2-Day Horse Camp - Basic Western

 Has your child
ever dreamed of
riding and caring for their own horse? Let them come and experience the
excitement of horsemanship and outdoor fun this summer at the 500-acre
Spotted Horse Ranch in the beautiful Hocking Hills.
We will be offering a 2-day basic
horsemanship program for children ages 9 - 12. Each child will be
assigned their own Appaloosa horse. We will be teaching introductory
horsemanship skills with a strong emphasis on safety. The basics of
ground handling, mounting, dismounting, correct riding position, control
at the walk, and trot will be covered. Challenging games will be used to
reinforce their learning experience.

Arrival Time for
campers is between 10-11 am on Thursday
Pick-up is 10am on Saturday
- Meals will be served family style
in the dining hall
- Overnight accommodations include a
bunkhouse, shower house, and flushing toilets
- A Maximum of 10 campers will be
accepted per session
- Price is $180 per child

- 9:00 AM Ground and Riding Instruction
- 12:00 Noon, Lunch
- 1:00 PM Rest Period
- 2:00 PM Activity Period, (crafts, games,
ect.)
- 3:00 PM Snack
- 3:30 PM Trail riding instruction and trail
riding
- 6:30 PM campfire Dinner
- 7:30 PM Activity period
- 8:30 PM Feed and Bed Down Horses
- 9:00 PM Shower and Prepare for Bed
- 10:00 PM Bedtime
